HISTORY

PLAYLIGHT THEATRE COMPANY  was founded by Artistic Director Ben Tostado in 2012 as a producing entity for the show The Great Pie Robbery...Or We Really Knead the Dough, which premiered at the New York City International Fringe Festival of that same year. Over the six five years, PLAYLIGHT has produced readings,  workshops, cabarets, and mainstage productions of original material by promising theatre artists.

In 2016, we introduced two arts series that have become the heart of who we are: Songwriters Night, an evening dedicated to composer and lyricists' work in a friendly, safe, and casual atmosphere; and Spotlight, our table reading series that offers playwrights invaluable insight to their material at any stage of development.

As we grow bolder than ever before, we continue to seek out new work and shed light on existing material, while creating a strong community base of collaborators and audience.

MISSION

PLAYLIGHT THEATRE COMPANY fosters the creation, development and exploration of theatrical works to fulfill the visionary potential of artists who enlighten audiences spiritually and intellectually.

PLAYLIGHT THEATRE COMPANY is a not-for-profit 501 (c)3 organization.
